New Twitter Homepage Days Away

Despite the recent surge in Twitter’s popularity, there are still many folks out there who don’t understand the concept of Twitter.  With a homepage redesign, Twitter has two primary goals:

1) Communicate to users that Twitter is a place where people can discover what is going on in real-time.

2)  Provide the opportunity for a user to try it out first, so they can get an idea of what Twitter is before signing up.

The homepage is supposed to debut this week.  What do you guys think Twitter can do to improve their homepage?
